Reapers of Blood - How did Vampyrism start?

And Thus it began

Where to begin? Vampyres have been around since the dawn of night.
Humans believe the are the highest on the food chain but
Vampyres are the true kings.
Many believe that Kain was the first. But it is truly unknown
even to the eldest of Vampyres. The Cain which is spoken of in
the bible is not the same as the Kain spoken of above. The
person called Cain in the Bible has little to no direct influence
on Vampyrism. The Kain who has been attributed as the father
of all Vampyres lived at night and drank the blood of victims he
took. Many of the eldest Vampyres believe he found another of his
kind. A female named Marind. Together they had 13 children, which
started the 13 original clans. There are many more than the
original 13 now. No one knows if this is completely true for the
old scrolls were lost when the Great Library in Alexandria burned
to the ground. Many of the historical records, both of the world
and of Vampyre kind were lost in that fire. Perhaps our kind
would not be so disorganized today if those records had never
been lost.
Kain is still alive, locked in a tomb which cannot be unlocked. For
we surely all would die if Kain were loosed. The price of true
knowledge is death. Why is this? Simply put, imagine not eating for
centeries and then being awoken suddenly. You would grab the first
thing that looked like food and devour it; but it would not stop
there. Kain has immence powers and not eating for so long would
cause him to act like a crazed, starved animal. He would not stop
devouring until he was completely sated, and who knows how long
that would take.
As the years passed Vampyres bred with mortals and the generations
produced by such unions possessed thinner and thinner blood. The
Vampyres of today in no way resemble what the true, original
Vampyres were. This is why some of the myths about the powers and
abilities of Vampyres exist. In the beginning, some of these
myths were true, but now because of the greatly thinned blood of
the Vampyres today, we no longer possess these powers.
